Abstract The following text proposes that the fiction short film La Captura (1967), directed by Pedro Chaskel, is a temporary film in the transition between a classic cinema and one of ruptures, based on its themes, film operations and para-cinematic aspects that surround her. Unfinished as a result of the 1973 coup d'état, the restoration of its originals in 2022 by Cineteca de la Universidad de Chile, allows it to be repositioned within the proposals of the New Latin American Cinema as a disruptive work for its time, specifically in the awareness regarding the banality of everyday power and the conformation of an aesthetics of violence.
