Abstract

This article presents part of the research we are carrying out as a working group, which is based on the interest of analytically approaching the political organizations of Chilean dances that have been articulated, from different styles and territories, between 1990 and 2020. In a first instance, we ask ourselves: how, from the critical analysis of the exercise of political articulation of dances, can we glimpse the recent history of these disciplines in Chile? And, to what extent do these histories account for the national political and social context? Our objective is to propose a territorial, historical, social and cultural reading of dances in Chile, from the perspective of their modes of organization and political articulation. In this text we expose our first approaches and research development, mainly focused on the development of methodological tools that bring us closer to a reading of our object, and in the elaboration of a definition of "dance political organization".
