Abstract

This article explores the relationship between the creative economy and cultural studies from an interdisciplinary perspective. Its argument lies in the need to use interdisciplinary methods to address complex problems in today's society, where culture emerges from various human practices such as art, politics, and religion. The importance of cultural anthropology in understanding the link between the creative economy and culture is highlighted, thus emphasizing how multi, inter, and transdisciplinarity improve the understanding of the dynamics of the cultural sector and encourage dialogue between disciplines that normally do not interact. It focuses on how creativity and innovation in the creative economy contribute to economic and cultural value, promoting sustainable economic development, considering territorial and social aspects, and how this sector can be a bridge toward equity and the overcoming of inequalities. It concludes by emphasizing the potential of the creative economy and cultural studies to enrich academic dialogue and contribute to the understanding of the cultural and economic impact of creativity and innovation. Additionally, it highlights the relevance of this interdisciplinary approach to the development of public policies that strengthen collaboration between local communities, the academic sector, and the public and private sectors, promoting integral and sustainable development.
