Abstract

This article presents an experience of teaching innovation in the field of higher education, highlighting the positive impact that active and innovative methodologies have on the development of soft skills and specific competencies necessary for 21st century professionals. The experience generated a dynamic dialogue between theoretical and practical knowledge, allowing students of the UTPL Performing Arts program to develop skills and competencies through various techniques specific to each methodology. In this practice, it was observed that the proposed training promoted creativity and critical thinking among students. In particular, Design Thinking was used as an innovation methodology, allowing students to approach complex problems from a creative perspective. Likewise, Project Based Learning was used through a specific challenge as an active methodology to promote soft skills such as teamwork, effective communication, and leadership. The result of this proposal materialized in an enriching experience from the teaching approach, using the qualitative descriptive method for the training process. This analysis allowed us to identify the positive impact of active and innovative methodologies in the comprehensive training of university students, evidencing how these pedagogical practices can enhance the development of fundamental skills and competencies for their professional future.
