Abstract We want to share and rescue a small part of the creative contribution of the work of Alberto Kurapel, who, from his exile, undoubtedly installs one of the most powerful artistic practices of cultural resistance that we can discover in this commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the coup de state of 1973. The theatrical, performative, poetic, musical and essay work of this artist is an example of how art transcends its own limits, preserving the traces of historical, social, collective and personal memory, to erect and produce from an exiled work, artistic expressions that reach our days denouncing, showing and evidencing the horrors of the Chilean and Latin American dictatorships and addressing the problem of otherness. From this vision, he manages to innovate and create an interdisciplinary, transmedia (including audiovisual media such as film, video, slides), rhizomatic drama that includes hybridity, bilingualism, and addresses the problem of forced displacement, migration, and exile. , characteristics that incorporate scenic language: fracture, loss of language, culture, isolation, loneliness. We make a brief analysis of the work "exitlio in pectore extrañamiento", a work created in exile by Kurapel and his Company in 1983, published in 1987, which clearly demonstrates how a marginal creation can become a landmark of artistic cultural resistance if it is linked to the collective experiences and with the social-historical-cultural and political processes that cause them.
