Galicia, España. With a degree in Philology and a PhD in Philosophy and Educational Sciences, he was director and professor at the Galician School of Dramatic Art between July 2005, the year of its creation, and June 2021, when he retired. He was also an associate professor at the University of Vigo in the Faculty of Education and Social Work, an institution with which he continues to collaborate in postgraduate studies. He is the director of the Revista ADE / Teatro, edited by the Association of Stage Directors of Spain. Abstract This paper presents an approach to the field where theatre and research meet, considered from an educational perspective and a socio-critical position in relation to procedures in knowledge generation, its uses and transferability. Accordingly, we start with a critical review on central concepts to the field, which, complemented by a review of relevant literature, will allow us to analyze some lines of work, outcomes and benefits that could derive in the areas of teaching, learning or creation.
