As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
Format
1. Manuscripts must be submitted in MS Word text format (.doc or .docx.). The files will be presented in letter size (21.59 cm X 27.94 cm), with margins of 2.5 cm on all sides. The font to use is Times New Roman in size 12, with simple and justified leading in its titles, subtitles, and paragraphs. RGE's publishing languages are Spanish and Portuguese.
2. The hierarchy in the sections of the text is based on titles (Times New Roman 12, bold and justified) and subtitles (Times New Roman 12, italic and justified), mainly. Titles and subtitles must not be numbered at all.
3. The works submitted to must have a minimum of 6,000 and a maximum of 9,000 words, including bibliographic references and footnotes. All contributions must be entered through the RGE site.
4. Manuscripts may contain tables and figures:
- Tables must be incorporated into the text submitted to RGE, with no more design than the structure that orders them. They must be numbered correlatively and presented with title and source of origin or elaboration in Times New Roman letter size 12, with simple and centered leading.
- Figures (maps, drawings, photographs, schematics, graphics) must be incorporated into the text, with resolution of 300 dpi in JPEG format (.jpg). They must be numbered correlatively and presented with title and source of origin or elaboration in Times New Roman letter size 12, with simple and centered leading.
- For both cases, authors should not enter information that alters the blind review of manuscripts.
5. Quotes shall be carried out exclusively in the case of textual quotations drawn from primary, bibliographic or interview sources. If you exceed the three lines of text, citations must go in separate paragraph and with Times New Roman letter size 11, with simple and justified leading.
6. Italics may be used in words from other languages, with this criterion applied in the languages that RGE considers for publication (Spanish and Portuguese). Texts will not contain underlined words.
7. The acronyms, values, units of measurement, weight, or distance, among others, will be duly explained, ensuring their unique understanding by reviewers and readers.
8. It should be noted that the submitted manuscript does not have any kind of conflict of interest in relation to the topic raised.
Manuscript structure
Manuscripts must include the following sections:
1. Title. The title of the manuscript must reflect the themes to be presented in the body of the writing. If the primary language is Spanish, you must have your respective translation into English or Portuguese. If the work has as its main language to Portuguese, the title will also be presented translated into English or Spanish.
2. Abstract. The abstract will be between 200 and 300 words. It must be presented in the main language of the work together with its respective translation into English, Portuguese, or Spanish, as appropriate.
3. Keywords. The manuscript shall include three to five descriptors, separated by commas, presented in the Spanish, English and Portuguese languages, as appropriate.
4. Text. The body of work shall consist of a. introduction or presentation of the topics developed, objectives or research questions; b. materials, processes, exercises, sources or data involved in the manuscript methodology and its approach; c. theoretical and conceptual discussion contained in the issues raised in the previous sections; d. results analysis; e. final ideas, projections or conclusions; f. thanks; and g. bibliography. The sections individualized here can be titled in relation to their content, quadring consistency with writing, its approach and style.
5. Notes. Foot notes should be called automatically by the word processor (e.g. MS Word), correlatively, with Times New Roman letter size 10 and justified. Footnotes are expected to be only accurate, to complement ideas, place concepts or guide results.
6. References. This section shall contain all bibliographic references included in the body of the manuscript. The system that RGE hosts for bibliographic references is a simplified version of ISO 690 (Author, date:page/s). For references present in the text, the following examples should be considered:
- to Milton Santos (1993)...
- the spatial emancipation (Springer, 2016)...
- One of the criticisms of radical thinking in Geography discusses whether these "constitute a corpus outsider" (Hidalgo et al, 2019:405).
- The crisis in rural space representations is evident in the face of recent labor exploitation scenarios detected in Central Chile (Jiménez-Videla, 2016; Garrido & Valdés, 2017).
