Abstract

This article examines three judicial files from the 18th century that involve the Indian village of San Blas de los Sauces in the jurisdiction of La Rioja, preserved in Córdoba archives. It analyzes the contexts of production of these files, the information they provide to understand indigenous agencies in justice and the relationships forged both within the reduction village and with the agents of colonial power. It also problematizes the implications of investigations that are based on extralocal archives and documentation of a dispersed nature.
