Arbitration Process
Tiempo Histórico has an editorial team made up of a director, an editor-in-charge and a co-editor, that works with an editorial committee whose members are academics with outstanding university and professional backgrounds. It also relies on a body of national and international external evaluators, made up of historians and social scientists from different study and academic centers.
The process considers an initial evaluation by the editorial team, eventually supported by the editorial committee, who determine sending the document to two external evaluators per article for review. The arbitration process includes peer review, also called a double blind system, in order to safeguard the quality and academic rigor of the publication, which is regulated by the standards of scientific production considered in the main international indexes.
Papers are published only if they are unanimously approved by the journal's editorial team and by the two external reviewers. When there is a marked difference between the latter, the editors appoint a third evaluator.
The responsible editor will ensure the application of ethical standards throughout the process, and the editorial team of Tiempo Histórico is committed to respecting and enforcing the standards of ethical conduct throughout the editing process.
For this purpose, the edition of Tiempo Histórico is carried out based on the guidelines delivered by the Code of Conduct of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) whose guidelines we will follow and which are synthesized below:
