The results of the participatory workshops conducted between February and April 2025 in the Nahua locality and Ejido of Tecoltemic, in Ixtacamaxtitlán, Puebla, are presented. These workshops addressed issues such as community identity and the use of ecotechnologies and provided a glimpse of the current state of community life as perceived by the inhabitants of the locality, after the hard resistance offered by them against a Canadian mining incursion, which sponsored an open-pit extraction project in the territory. The workshops pursued a twofold objective: to strengthen the community's capacity to manage its natural resources in a sustainable manner and to revitalize the social fabric torn by years of resistance against the mining company by fostering a sense of shared identity and revalorizing the traditional knowledge that proved indispensable in tipping the balance in their favor during the conflict.
