Abstract


This article studies the influence of the Argentinian government of Raúl Alfonsín (1983-1989) in the Chilean transition. During his presidency, there was an active effort to promote the democratization process in Chile, by supporting the democratic opposition and by realizing diplomatic efforts to diminish the actions of the communists’ armed groups. We also explore the lecture than the Chilean actors made about the Argentinian transitions, especially the lections they learned about the relations with the military, human rights and economic reforms.
